GrapChina 2021 Standardization Forum to be held November 13, 2021, Shanghai, China

By Lijun Yin – International Graphene Product Certification Center (IGCC):

China International Graphene Innovation Conference has been successfully held for seven consecutive years, and its influence has been growing continuously. The seven conferences have attracted more than 1,200 experts in the field of new materials from more than 30 countries and regions, more than 4,000 units and more than 23,000 participants. It has developed into a global graphene event and is known as the “Global Graphene Autumn Conference”.

GrapChina 2021 Standardization Forum is a session at the China International Graphene Innovation Conference. The forum will be held on the afternoon of November 13, 2021, in Shanghai, China.

The forum invited nine experts including Norbert Fabricius, Secretary of IEC/TC 113 “Nanotechnology for electrotechnical products and systems”, and Ge Guanglu, Vice Chairman of SAC/TC 279 “National Nanotechnology Standardization Technical Committee”, to make on-site reports. A panel discussion on “The Need for International Standardization in China” was also set up.

The forum aims to accelerate the standardization of graphene, promote international standardization cooperation in the field of graphene and graphene-based products, advance the integration of graphene cutting-edge technologies and standards, and enhance the international influence of Chinese graphene standards. The experts presenting current national and international standardization activities serve as project leaders in IEC/TC 113.

IEC/TC 113 is a Technical Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission. The scope of IEC/TC 113 covers standardization of the technologies relevant to electrotechnical products and systems in the field of nanotechnology. This includes the standardization of graphene-based materials and their application in products like PV solar cells and devices for storage of electrical energy. Recently, the TC has added an ad hoc group for “Wafer scale system integration” which will address the use of nanomaterials in the semiconductor industry for More than Moore applications.
